WOMAN OF VICTORY            part 2

verse 17:
She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

She puts on and keeps on the full armor of God [
Eph 6:10-18]; and is always ready for warfare. She knows who she is in the body of Christ and what is expected of her. This lady is a Mature Christian Warrior!

Her arms are strengthened as well, as she raises them in worship and adoration which is the beginning of warfare.

verse 18:
She perceiveth that her merchandise is good; her candle goeth not out by night.

Let us search and try our ways and turn again to the Lord. Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens. Lam  3:40-41

Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?  2 Cor  13:5

The woman of victory frequently examines her motives behind what she is doing, and the fruits of her labor. She wants God to teach and correct her. This lady is serious about her relationship with her Heavenly Father; sheís growing and is in the exact place the Lord wants her.

verse 19:
She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the  distaff

The spindle  directs the distaff and the distaff  is in the shape of a circle. It appears to me that as she gets a hold of God and holds on, that she can control and shape those events in her circle; according to the will of God.

We get a hold of God through praise, worship and prayer. Through prayer mountains can be moved.

verse 20:
She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

This obviously is telling us to be generous with those in need. We know the Lord blesses us so that we may in turn bless others. But are we generous with our time and with our emotions?

Do we go out of our way to embrace someone that is disagreeable or unattractive? How about the person that makes a habit of stepping on our toes, or that society deems unworthy or too disgusting to love?

Are we willing to set aside our plans for a social evening to answer anotherís need? Are we willing to really put ourselves out for anther?

verse 21:
She is not afraid of the snow for her household; for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

And all thy children shall  be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children. In righteousness shalt thou be established; thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear; and from terror; for it shall not come near thee. Isa  54:13-14

Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished; but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.  Prov  11:21

In this text snow  represents trials and hindrances. Scarlet  was the color worn by warriors and rich kings; meant to shine brilliantly. This verse also tells us that her family has on double the garments; which are: The Blood of Jesus and a Prayer Covering.

We need to lay hands on our children every morning and pray over them; applying the Blood of Jesus over them.

verse 22:
She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

A tapestry is made from various colored ribbons woven together, this is used as a covering.  Silk represents purity and the color purple is worn by royalty. I believe these various ribbons used to make up this tapestry are

1.   Faith
2.   Virtue
3.   Wisdom
4.   Self-Control
5.   Patience
6.   Kindness
7.   Godliness
8.   Pure Love

Itís up to us whether we allow God, to turn us into a beautiful tapestry or not.

verse 23:
Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them; they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.  Ps 127:5

This man is fortunate to have a wife with a good reputation.

We women have the ability to beat our husbands down and rob them of the ability to stand with other men on an equal level; the reverse is also true.

We need to build our man up and revere him, as Sarah honored Abraham. A man that is unsure of his masculinity is not able to handle himself in the face of the enemy. Again, itís up to us do we want a strong virile man, or a weak fearful one?

Many husbands refuse to take leadership of the home. My advice to these wives is:  use gentleness and sensitivity; building him up will increase his desire to take his proper place.  We must protect their egos as men; even if they wonít take their proper place.

verse 24:
She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

Linen represents purity. The only possible way a person can be pure is through the Blood of Jesus; asking Him to forgive us of our sins and turning our lives over to Him.

We are to walk as righteous people; being a witness to the world about the love of Jesus.

The girdle is worn over  the other garments. It has pockets to free ones hands for service [giving all our cares over to Jesus]. This girdle represents:

1.   Strength
2.   Power
3.   Righteousness
4.   Faithfulness

I believe this describes the Holy Ghost. First we have Salvation [purity] then we wear the girdle to help us.  We must be open to the complete filling of the Holy Ghost as spoken of in Acts 2. Without the added strength and anointing only He can give we are only half dressed.

There are Seven Spirits of God; which is the seven-fold of the Holy Spirit:

The Spirit of:
Isa  11:2

1.   Lord
2.   Wisdom
3.   Understanding
4.   Council
5.   Might [strength to do anything]
6.   Knowledge
7.   Fear of God

This girdle [Holy Ghost] was worn by:

1.   State Officials
2.   Soldiers
3.   Prophets
4.   Women
5.   To show sorrow

Donít be afraid to share with others the free gift, of the fullness of the Holy Ghost.

There are no gender restrictions here; male and female alike can freely receive. He is not a respecter of persons; we are all on the same level. With Him it doesnít matter what position we hold or whom we know, or even our age. Salvation is free, so is the Holy Ghost.

verse 25:
Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

verse 26:
She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

We need to seriously guard our mouth. Put downs are cruel, speaking ill of another person is cursing them.  Love dictates that we build each other up. Never are we to lie; this doesnít mean we have to beat each other up with the truth; itís all right to be quiet. As we pray for wisdom, He gives it to us.

verse 27:
She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness

Her home is clean, the meals are edible and healthy, the laundry is done and put away; sheís a busy person. This in addition to ministering, studying, and praying As we ask the Lord to help us redeem our time, He will. When a woman is busy in Godís service, there will be no time nor desire to gossip.

verse 28:
Her children arise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

versed 29:
Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them  all.

Not all Christian women are walking in victory. She must be dedicated to serving God and determined to follow Him being all God wants her to be. She has learned to give up pride and self.  She walks in strength and dignity. This is a liberated Handmaiden of God.

verse 30:
Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised

verse 31:
Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

This woman is not a slave nor has she given up her sense of being a woman with a mind and opinions. Quite the contrary, this lady is more liberated and has more freedom to be herself then the unsaved lady fighting to prove she is liberated.

The Victorious Woman is known by her fruits and the Lord lifts her up as she lifts Him up.
