BINDING AND LOOSING
And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou [you] shalt bind [declare to be improper and unlawful] on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose [declare lawful] on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Bound in the Greek: do = Be in bonds, knit, tie, wind.
Loosed in the Greek: luo = Break [up], destroy, dissolve, [un-] loose; melt, put off, release.
We have the authority through the name of Jesus, and through the power of the Holy Ghost, to bind whatever the attacking spirit may be. This leaves the demon spirits powerless; they are tied up!
We have the authority to loose the demons hold on any person or situation. For example: You’re feeling really depressed lately. You would say, "depression I bind you and I loose your hold upon me now, You will leave me and get off my property now, in Jesus name. Praise God!
If you're going into a situation where unsaved people will be, and you know it may be a little unpleasant; before you enter the room:
· Be sure prayed up, with no unconfessed sin.
· Ask the Father to cover you with the Blood of Jesus
· Order all offending spirits to be silent in your presence.
· Ask the Lord for wisdom and an anointing to do His will.
· Praise our LORD
· Pray in the spirit without moving your lips, keeping your mind on God.
· Enter the room knowing you have the King of Kings with you.
You have bound the spirits and loosed their hold on the room; you have the situation in control through Jesus.
If we will use the authority we have, the power will grow within us. Please remember that we have the power over these things, in the name of Jesus [Lk 10:19 ( page 2)]. Order all unclean spirits out of your home, and off your property, in the wondrous name of Jesus!
We need to be bold! Ask the Lord to flood your home with His presence. Fill your home with praise and the word of God. Turn on gospel music, filling your home with the spirit of worship. Pray all that enter your home will sense the presence of the Holy God!
I'm often asked if we have the authority to send Satan and his demons to hell? According to what I have read in the scriptures, my answer is no! What we bind and loose must be the law in heaven according to scripture. After the Battle of Armageddon, Jesus will deal with this demonic host. Jesus didn't send them "back" to hell, because it wasn't "time". We can order them off our property, but we cannot send them to hell.
And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?
You probably will find a lot of animosity coming at you once you take a stand for Jesus. Most unsaved people get very hostile and aggressive when under conviction. We need to stand firm, and keep focused on the Lord.
Be not overcome of evil, but overcome [master] evil with good.
We can't allow the enemy to ensnare us into a battle of the mouth. We must refuse to take our eyes off the Lord. It takes determination to keep our vision focused on God. But we can do it through Jesus.
Phil 4:13I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me [I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency].
Depart from evil, and do good; seek [seek, inquire for, and crave] peace, and pursue [go after] it.
As long as we're focused upon the Lord, the venom of attack will not hit its mark [Mk 16:17-18]. We need to guard our peace and not give it up. By staying out of arguments we are allowing God to handle the situations that arise.
2 Tim 1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Read the Word of God and believe God's promises are for you! These promises are yours, take them and stand upon them.
Not all our problems come from demons!
We don't want to be guilty of looking under every rock for a demon. Many times our battles come from our own flesh man, being stronger then God's spirit within us. We need to feed our spirit and starve our soul [flesh man].
Many times the battle is not the situation, but how we handle ourselves while in the fire! The Holy Ghost led the Israelites to the Red Sea.
Exodus 14:1-4 KJV
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the [Red] sea, over against Baalzephon: before it shall ye encamp [opposite it] by the sea.
For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in.
And I will harden [make stubborn, strong] Pharaoh's heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured [gain honor and glory over] upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did so.
Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations. Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience. But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.
More times then not we are led to places where our faith is being tested. How we respond to these difficult times is the key to our victory or defeat!
Ex 14:13-15 KJV
And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still [firm, confident, undismayed], and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace [and remain at rest]. And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me [why do you cry to me]? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:
Praise the Lord! We are told to stand firm, hold onto the Lord and go forward. The job of the enemy is to stop us, getting our eyes off the Lord and unto the problem at hand.
While in the midst of a time of testing, do we get depressed, hostile or rebellious? These are the works of the enemy; this is what we need to rebuke! Too many times we run around rebuking the work of God! While in the fire we need to embrace what the Lord is teaching us. Ask Him to show you what you need to learn, then learn it well. Praise Him through all the trials!
INTERCESSION VS TRAVAIL
We have discussed prayer. Another word for praying for others is intercession.
Intercession is going to the Throne of God and holding these precious people up to Him, asking our Father to hear our petitions for them. Many times while praying we feel pain and distress for the person and their situations, being moved to tears. This type of warfare is vital! the Lord moves mightily because some faithful saint has prayed for His will to be done.
Those with speaking ministries need the intercessor. Without prayers behind him or her the anointing will not go forth.
These wonderful saints who are prayer warriors, have a ministry as important as any given to man. We may not know who they are, but God is raising them up in His kingdom, and great is their reward.
