| CHAPTER TWENTY TWO
THEN HE showed me the river whose waters give life, sparkling like crystal, flowing out from the throne of God and of the Lamb
This pure water, proceeding from the Throne of God will be in abundant supply. If the city is shaped like a mountain peak, the thrones of God being on top, the river will flow 1,500 miles to the base.
It flowed down the center of the main street. On each side of the river grew a tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, with a fresh crop each month. The leaves were used for medicine to heal the nations.
He asked me, “Have you been watching, son of man?” Then he led me back along the riverbank. 7) When I returned, I was surprised by the sight of many trees growing on both sides of the river. 8) Then he said to me, “This river flows east through the desert into the valley of the Dead Sea. The waters of this stream will make the salty waters of the Dead Sea fresh and pure. 9) There will be swarms of living things wherever the water of this river flows. Fish will abound in the Dead Sea, for its waters will become fresh. Life will flourish wherever this water flows. 10) Fishermen will stand along the shores of the Dead Sea. All the way from En-gedi to En-eglaim, the shores will be covered with nets drying in the sun. Fish of every kind will fill the Dead Sea, just as they fill the Mediterranean. 11) But the marshes and swamps will not be purified; they will still be salty. 12) Fruit trees of all kinds will grow along both sides of the river. The leaves of these trees will never turn brown and fall, and there will always be fruit on their branches. There will be a new crop every month, for they are watered by the river flowing from the Temple. The fruit will be for food and the leaves for healing.”
Each month these trees will bear twelve varieties of fruit. The leaves will preserve the natural life and health man. Remembering those left alive until the end of the Tribulation still being in in their carnal flesh. The leaves will be for preservation of natural life and eternal health. The residents of New Jerusalem, which are the glorified saints, will enjoy the fruits as well.
He who is able to hear, let him listen to and give heed to what the Spirit says to the assemblies (churches). To him who overcomes (is victorious), I will grant to eat [of the fruit] of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.
No longer will there be a curse upon anything. For the throne of God and of the Lamb will be there, and his servants will worship him. 4) And they will see his face, and his name will be written on their foreheads. 5) And there will be no night there—no need for lamps or sun—for the Lord God will shine on them. And they will reign forever and ever.
This concerns the Glorified Saints, how exciting this all sounds. There are seven glories for the Redeemed.
1. No more curse
2. We are allowed at the Throne of God and Jesus.
3. We are servants to the Lord.
4. We can see the face of God.
5. His name of authority shall be on our face.
6. There will be no night (for us night owls this will be heaven in itself :0)
7. We will reign as Priests and Kings forever.
Then the angel said to me, “Everything you have heard and seen is trustworthy and true. The Lord God, who inspires his prophets, (Greek The Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets) has sent his angel to tell his servants what will happen soon (Greek suddenly or quickly).”
We must be prepared; speaking of the Tribulation when it begins it will all happen rapidly. There will be no time to prepare after it all begins. I am speaking of spiritual readiness.
“Look, I am coming soon! Blessed are those who obey the words of prophecy written in this book.” 8)
I, John, am the one who heard and saw all these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me. 9) But he said, “No, don’t worship me. I am a servant of God, just like you and your brothers the prophets, as well as all who obey what is written in this book. Worship only God!”
Then he instructed me, “Do not seal up the prophetic words in this book, for the time is near. 11 Let the one who is doing harm continue to do harm; let the one who is vile continue to be vile; let the one who is righteous continue to live righteously; let the one who is holy continue to be holy.”
Today this book of the Revelation is no sealed. We need to study this book again and again. Encourage your pastors and teachers to teach on this marvelous book. Each time I study it I find more truths, there is nothing to fear in it, only peace and encouragement for those that over come. We will not change after we death, we remain either clean or dirty in sin. There is no salvation after death.
“Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds. 13) I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”
But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. 13) They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God. 14) So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.
In fact, it says, “The message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart.” And that message is the very message about faith that we preach: 9) If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10) For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. 11) As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” 12) Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him.
13) For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” 14) But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? 15) And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”
If we honestly believe in Jesus then we will not take part in sin of any kind. If we believe in Jesus then we must also Receive Him as Lord. To believe is to receive.
Blessed are those who wash their robes. They will be permitted to enter through the gates of the city and eat the fruit from the tree of life. 15) Outside the city are the dogs—the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idol worshipers, and all who love to live a lie. 16) “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this message for the churches. I am both the source of David and the heir to his throne. I am the bright morning star.”
It is interesting how much importance the Lord places on lying.
Rev 21"8 (b)
and all liars—their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”
Rev 21: 27
Nothing evil will be allowed to enter, nor anyone who practices shameful idolatry and dishonesty, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
Those who practice a lying will be outside of God’s eternal kingdom. Lying is the last sin mentioned in scriptures. So many “Christians” will tell lies to cover a truth or to embellish a truth. Why is it we cannot understand this will send us to hell? A lie is a lie. No excuses are allowed!
The [Holy] Spirit and the bride (the church, the true Christians) say, Come! And let him who is listening say, Come! And let everyone come who is thirsty [who is painfully conscious of his need of those things by which the soul is refreshed, supported, and strengthened]; and whoever [earnestly] desires to do it, let him come, take, appropriate, and drink the water of Life without cost.
This last mention of the Holy Spirit is His sending us out to witness and teach the lost about accepting Jesus as Lord.
I [personally solemnly] warn everyone who listens to the statements of the prophecy [the predictions and the consolations and admonitions pertaining to them] in this book: If anyone shall add anything to them, God will add and lay upon him the plagues (the afflictions and the calamities) that are recorded and described in this book. And if anyone cancels or takes away from the statements of the book of this prophecy [these predictions relating to Christ's kingdom and its speedy triumph, together with the consolations and admonitions or warnings pertaining to them], God will cancel and take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the city of holiness (purity and hallowedness), which are described and promised in this book.
In the beginning, of God's Word wasn't taken seriously enough; the same is occuring today. False teachings are running rampid in our churches, as the average "Christian" refuses to study the Word for themselves. To add or delete this precious Word of God is treacherous and deadly.
He Who gives this warning and affirms and testifies to these things says, Yes (it is true). [Surely] I am coming quickly (swiftly, speedily). Amen (so let it be)!
Yes, come, Lord Jesus! Yes precious LORD, come quickly, Your Bride anxiously awaits Your call.
The grace (blessing and favor) of the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) be with all the saints (God's holy people, those set apart for God, to be, as it were, exclusively His). Amen (so let it be)!
Song of Solomon 8:13-14
O you who dwell in the gardens, your companions have been listening to your voice--now cause me to hear it. 14) [Joyfully the radiant bride turned to him, the one altogether lovely, the chief among ten thousand to her soul, and with unconcealed eagerness to begin her life of sweet companionship with him, she answered] Make haste, my beloved, and come quickly, like a gazelle or a young hart [and take me to our waiting home] upon the mountains of spices!
This particular passage always make me weepy, it is so beautifully written. Jesus is the Lover of our Soul and we are the anxious Bride. Too many consider the Song of Solomom a book of sex when it is not at all. It is a love story concerning the Lord and His Bride. It is all spiritual and beautiful. Especially when read in the Amplifed Bible.
There are charts of the crowns we will be given as well as the judgments. There are pictures of Petra on the following pages as well.
