                               CHAPTER  NINETEEN

The third verse of this chapter will bring to a close this flashback, which included chapters 17 and 18.

Verse 1-3
AFTER THIS I heard what sounded like a mighty shout of a great crowd in heaven, exclaiming, Hallelujah (praise the Lord)! Salvation and glory (splendor and majesty) and power (dominion and authority) [belong] to our God! 2) His judgments are true and just. He has punished the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her immorality. He has avenged the murder of his servants.”
3) And again their voices rang out: “Praise the Lord! The smoke from that city ascends forever and ever!”

The Greek meaning of Hallelujah is the transliteration of a Hebrew term that means “Praise the Lord.”  This is Heavens Hallelujah chorus. The reason for the rejoicing is clearly that the Harlot, which is the world system, has been destroyed.

IT IS OVER!!!  God has brought it all down!

Verse 4-6
Then the twenty-four elders and the four living beings fell down and worshiped God, who was sitting on the throne. They cried out, “Amen! Praise the Lord!”   5) And from the throne came a voice that said, “Praise our God, all his servants, all who fear him, from the least to the greatest.”  6) Then I heard again what sounded like the shout of a vast crowd or the roar of mighty ocean waves or the crash of loud thunder: “Praise the Lord!   For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns.

All of heaven is rejoicing and we will be a part of it.  It is as if we have received an invitation to the event of the century but we have to wait patiently for the event is months away.  Let us see what we will be doing during this time of destruction here on Earth for the flashback is over.

Verse 7
Let us rejoice and shout for joy [exulting and triumphant]! Let us celebrate and ascribe to Him glory and honor, for the marriage of the Lamb [at last] has come, and His bride has prepared herself.

The Harlot has been destroyed after having enticed many from the true Lover of their Soul.  The Bridegroom has finally called for His Bride having been counted as worthy and faithful. Having died for us, the Lamb of God is the one we fell deeply in love with.

Eph 5:22-33
For wives, this means submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23) For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of his body, the church. 24) As the church submits to Christ, so you wives should submit to your husbands in everything. 25) For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her 26) to make her holy and clean,
washed by the cleansing of God’s word.

We need to  have a deep love for God's word.

27) He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault. 28) In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself. 29) No one hates his own body but feeds and cares for it, just as Christ cares for the church. 30) And we are members of his body.

We are deeply loved and cherished by the Bridegroom, we are a part of His body..

31 As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.”  32) This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one. 33) So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

We need to work at having God’s type of marriage as we die to self.  Marriage is a symbol of His love for us.

Verses 8-9
She has been given the finest of pure white linen to wear.” For the fine linen represents the good deeds of God’s holy people.   9)  And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb.” And he added, “These are true words that come from God.”

The chronology of this chapter places the “wife” which is the church in Heaven, before Jesus returns to set up His kingdom.  The wedding supper is during the last half of the tribulation. The bride consists of the Children of God gone on before and Raptured as well martyred, but excluding those left alive until the end of the tribulation. The white linen is purity and righteousness.

2 Cor 11:2-4
For I am zealous for you with a godly eagerness and a divine jealousy, for I have betrothed you to one Husband, to present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. 3) But [now] I am fearful, lest that even as the serpent beguiled Eve by his cunning, so your minds may be corrupted and seduced from wholehearted and sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4) For [you seem readily to endure it] if a man comes and preaches another Jesus than the One we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the [Spirit] you [once] received or a different gospel from the one you [then] received and welcomed; you tolerate [all that] well enough!

It is easy to say no way would I listen to false teaching of another god.  However, this is what is happening in most of our churches today. We need to be very careful where we go and what we do. If we predetermine to follow the Lord in all things no matter the cost, then He will guide us and we will learn to listen to His voice.  However, we must be determined to follow Him and not the desires of our flesh.

In Bible days, when a man was engaged to a woman, it was legal and binding.  However, he did not take her away right then to be married.  The young man leaves society in order to build her a house.  He never knew when he would be allowed to call for his bride since his father would periodically check on his progress.  When his father gave the signal, then and only then would he start out for his bride.

The young man would give a cry. "Behold the bridegroom cometh!”  The bride would have her wedding clothes laid out and ready to put on at an instant notice. She would hurry, putting them on and rush out to meet him.

When we first came to Christ, we became betrothed to Him, it is legal and binding we are His forever.  However, He did not take us away right then. He went to build us a house.  Like the Bride of old, we too must be alert to our Bridegrooms coming for us.  Praise God I can hardly wait!

Verse 10
Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said, “No, don’t worship me. I am a servant of God, just like you and your brothers and sisters who testify about their faith in Jesus. Worship only God. For the essence of prophecy is to give a clear witness for Jesus.

In the Greek this passage only says brothers and the Greek says in regards to prophecies “is the message confirmed by Jesus?”

Too often Pastors allow themselves to be raised up to the same height as God.  I have heard Pastors in private laugh at those trying to share what the Lord has shown them. It always grieves my heart when the pastors will sit on the platform during worship and not join in. I have wondered why they think they do not need nor seem to want to join in the worship of our Lord.  I have learned the anointing is ushered in through worship. A true man/woman of God will put a stop to anyone displaying an attitude of worship towards them.

Verse 11
Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war.

Jesus Christ is coming to Earth as the Conquering King!

Verse 12
His eyes were like flames of fire, and on his head were many crowns. A name was written on him that no one understood except himself.

Jesus is coming back not as the meek little lamb or the sweet little baby, He is returning as GOD, He is coming to JUDGE the unrighteous.  These crowns are for Majesty, which were inherited from His Father.

Verse 13
He is dressed in a robe dyed by dipping in blood, and the title by which He is called is The Word of God.

Jesus is the Word of God. As we ingest the Word, we are partaking of Jesus Himself, becoming one with Him.

In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2) He existed in the beginning with God.   3) God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him.   4) The Word gave life to everything that was created

Verse 14
And the troops of heaven, clothed in fine linen, dazzling and clean, followed Him on white horses.

This is the army of the LORD. We're His saints coming back with Him.  We will be clothed in robes of white. Even though we are His army, we will not take part in this battle, for there will be no battle between Jesus and the evil forces.  All Jesus has to do is speak and it is done.

Verse 15
From his mouth came a sharp sword to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will release the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty, like juice flowing from a winepress.

Jesus will judge and punish the wicked nations. He will destroy the evil ones. See Rev 14:18-19 the wine press.

Verse 16
And on His garment (robe) and on His thigh He has a name (title) inscribed, KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

The Jewish Prayer Shawl has different words represented by various knots and colors.  A few of the words say, "KING OF KINGS, LORD OF LORDS!".  Jesus will be wearing this shawl, and part of it will be laying across His thigh.

Verse 17
Then I saw a single angel stationed in the sun's light, and with a mighty voice he shouted to all the birds that fly across the sky, Come, gather yourselves together for the great supper of God,

At the end of the Battle of Armageddon, the destruction will be so great it'll take birds (buzzards?) to clean it up.  This is the scene of judgment against the terrible cruelty and evil of this world.

As my dear sister in Christ author Betty Swinford describes this battle scene:

"The anti-Christ is troubled by news from the east.  Then the King of the south [probably Africa] comes up against him.  The King of the far north [Russia as well as other countries] come against the anti-Christ as well, being disenchanted and discontented with him.

But then, there appears a figure on a white horse, with thousands and thousands and uncountable thousands of an army all in white!  All of a sudden, their attention is diverted from the anti-Christ, to the KING that sits on the white horse, and they want above all else to stop Him from establishing His Kingdom upon the Earth".

We know, God will  not be stopped!"

I pray if you have not already accepted Jesus as your LORD, that you are ready now to do so.  Simply ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins.  Ask Him to be LORD of your life.  Thank Him and believe you are  now forgiven and a child of God.  But, you must pray this with the attitude of living your life for Him. Then praise Him for forgiving you. Then tell someone you are now born again.  If you so this after the Rapture.. then I warn you to be very cautious whom you talk to about this.  Ask God to guide you, and He will.

Ps 37:23
The steps of a [good] man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way [and He busies Himself with his every step].

May our God bless you and give you the wisdom and guidance keeping you from harms way.

Now let's go to chapter twenty and see a bit of Heaven shall we?
