BREAKFAST  FOODS
CRACKED  WHEAT  CEREAL

Wheat makes a great cooked cereal. After eating a bowl, you aren't very hungry for the rest of the day. In addition, very good for your health

1 cup water to a boil.
Add pinch of salt (optional)
Dump in  ¾ cup cracked wheat


Reduce heat to a simmer and stir frequently for one minute or so. When you first add the wheat, you will think the mixture is too thin, but the wheat quickly absorbs the water. You can vary the cooking time depending on how soft you want the cereal. Also, vary the wheat/water ratio depending on how thick you want the cereal.

Add raisins, nuts, or what ever, for variety. Makes one large bowl. Enjoy!

BREAKFAST PIZZA

1 pkg crescent rolls
1 pkg (roll) sausage
Frozen pkg hash brown potatoes
Grated cheese ( approx. 3 c)
6 eggs
salt & pepper
1 can green chiles chopped opt.  (Very good in this)

Steam sausage until brown: crumble and drain.  Press rolls in a pan 11x15 Sprayed with Pam.

Top with thawed potatoes, add sausage.  Top with cheese.  Beat eggs with fork, add salt and pepper.  Pour over top.  [Sprinkle green chiles].

Bake at 350 degrees for approx 30 min till set and crust is brown.

CROCKPOT BREAKFAST   [Dinner]

Slow cookers can make quick work of breakfast. What could be better than waking up to the
fresh aroma of a hearty morning meal wafting through the house? With aid of a CrockPot, it’s
easy to give the entire family a hot breakfast, regardless of when they drag themselves out of bed.

1 bag (32 oz.) frozen hash brown potatoes or 4 cups cubed potatoes
1 lb. of bacon - cooked & drained, crumbled ~OR~ 1 lb. cooked ham, cubed
1 medium onion - diced
1 green bell pepper - diced
1 ½ cups cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese or “Co-Jack” - shredded

Beat together:
1 dozen eggs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon salt or Lowry’s seasoned salt (our family favourite!)
1 teaspoon pepper (more or less to taste)

Place a layer of frozen potatoes on the bottom of the slow cooker, followed by a layer of bacon then onions, green pepper and cheese. Repeat the layering process two or three more times, ending with a layer of cheese. Pour egg mixture over the Crockpot mixture, cover and turn on low. Cook for 10-12 hours.
