For this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.     Neh 8:10b
Knowing God's word, along with the strong desire to  follow what it says, will bring about a true joy.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Gal 5:22-23
Joy comes with being reconciled with God.
"Joy" (Gk. chara).. the feeling of gladness based on the love, grace, blessings, promises, and nearness of God that belong to those who believe in Christ.
How does this fruit come about?
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.   James 1:2-4
"Temptation" (Gk. peirasmoi).. trials, persecution, and afflictions, divinely permitted, with a beneficial purpose.
But He said to me, My grace (favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you (sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully); for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in (your) weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weakness and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me!     2 Cor 12:9  Amp Bible
"Perfect" (Gk. teleios).. having reached it's end, such as being mature.
So for the sake of Christ, I am well pleased and take pleasure in infirmities, insults, hardships, persecutions, perplexities and distresses; for when I am weak (in human strength), then am I (truly) strong (able, powerful in divine strength).  2 Cor 12:10
No one likes to be hurt or sick or have "problems", but when we understand the Lord is allowing this for a reason, then we can praise Him and trust Him to complete what He has begun.
We are assured and know that (God being a partner in their labor) all things work together and are (fitting into a plan) for good to and for those who love God and are called according to (His) design and purpose.  Rom 8:28
True joy has nothing to do with our circumstances.  Joy is not happiness which depends on our circumstances and is carnal. Joy is with us no matter what comes against us.

As born again Christians we belong to the LORD and He is in control of everything that affects us.  By keeping our eyes on Him we have no thought of self-pity or fear. It's a real knowledge that no matter what happens around us, we are walking in the Spirit of God.  It's knowing we have a home waiting for us, that the Lord is allowing this for a purpose and this life is just temporal. Joy is delighting in the LORD no matter what.

So when the trials come, lift your voice toward the Heavens and Praise God for doing a marvelous work in and through you. For we are called to be Overcomers in Jesus Christ!  Praise the Lamb of GOD!

If you'd like prayer, please write it in the prayer book or email me, and I will pray; we are a family in Christ. love, Carol
