You are a child of God deeply in love with the Lord and His Word.  You are used in many ways as the anointing of God moves through you.  Through the years there have been many changes in your life as well as many heartaches and trials which the Lord has used to teach you many valuable things.  You are an over comer through Jesus Christ.

All of a sudden, you are overwhelmed with thoughts of incompetence.  It seems that no matter what you do it is wrong and out of order.  You are loud and ignorant, no way can the Lord find pleasure in you; your feelings take on a real desperation.  You are devastated at being so out of place and unusable.

As you cry out to the Lord in heartache you find no relief from the pressure in your head which intensifies, as your mind feels like itís packed solid with cotton.  What do you do, how did this happen, what is happening?  You try to read His word but nothing seems to make sense, you have never felt so alone. Abba help me, you sob.

What I have just described is a very real scenario of what it feels like to be a victim of psychic prayer, which is a curse put upon the mind of a person.

Hold on a moment! We as Christians have nothing to worry about right?

1 John 4:4
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them:  because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

So what am I speaking about here?  Exactly what is a curse and how does it get on us anyway?  How can anything like a curse come on a child of God?

In order to find the find the correct meaning of a word as used inthe Bible we need to understand two things.  The The Old Testament  was originally written in Hebrew, and the New Testament in Greek.  When a certain word is used in either of these cases, the meaning will vary which is a good reason to have a Vine's or other good Greek & Hebrew Dictionary.

Curse  [Heb.
qalal]......... To be trifling, light, swift; to curse.  Frequently includes the idea of "cursing" or scorning or mocking; bring into contempt; afflict

Curse  [Heb.
m erah]...... An execration [act of cursing or denouncing; also: the curse so uttered......an object of curses] curse.

Curse  [Heb.
ta'alah]....... An imprecation [to pray, invoke evil on: curse, to utter curses].

Curse  [Heb.
alah].......... Curse, oath; basically refers to execution of a proper oath to legalize a covenant or agreement.  Sometimes represents a "curse" against someone else, whether his identity is known or not.

Curse [Gk.
ara].............. A malediction [to speak, to say], cursing, other meaning a prayer.

Curse [Gk.
katara]...... ... Imprecation [to pray; invoke evil on: curse, to utter curses];  execration [act of cursing or denounc- ing]; curse.

Curse [Gk.
katanathematizo]... To utter curses against.

Curse [Gk.
kataraomai]... To pray against, to wish evil against a person or thing... to curse.

A curse put upon a personís mind can be placed there either deliberately or unintentionally. There are various types of curses we as Christians must learn to deal with; such as:

Negative thoughts hold power as well as the spoken word.

When we pray we focus our thoughts on God, sending our prayers [thoughts] to God the Father through Jesus Christ.

This works for curses the same as it works for prayer; a person will  think Hard on another individual while wishing confusion, chaos all types of mayhem to come upon this other person; this is called "Psychic Prayer", it's a violent expression of evil put upon another person.

Ps 62:4
They only consult to cast him down from his height [to dishonor him];  they delight in lies. They bless with their mouths, but they curse inwardly. Selah [pause, and think calmly of that]!

Note the Word says "they curse inwardly"...the Hebrew word for "inwardly in this context is "qereb" :  heart, thought, within self.

The Word "curse" used in this way is in the Hebrew is
qalal :   Bring into contempt; afflict.

Rom 12:14
Bless those who persecute you [who are cruel] in their attitude toward you]; bless and do not curse them.

The word curse in this scripture is "kataraomai" in the Greek; which means "to pray against, to wish evil against a person or thing... to curse".

Praying for a son's cheating wife or the abusive boy friend of a daughter to die in order to remove them from the child you love so dearly, is simply not allowed;  it is a curse.  Itís surprising how many desperate parents do this very thing, not realizing they are placing a curse upon someone. We need to be very careful what we pray for.

An individual can be cursed through gossip and backbiting.

There have been times after I have spoken at a church that a feeling of extreme self-condemnation would settle upon me while driving away.  I would be overwhelmed with this heavy depression beating at me while thoughts of self-loathing would scream through my mind.

This heavy condemnation had come upon me as a direct result of gossip and backbiting from those speaking against me.  The thoughtless tongues of others were placing a curse upon me; as revealed through a lady gifted with the Word of Knowledge, and witnessed to me directly by the Holy Ghost.

After I had rebuked this curse, the entire heaviness lifted from me.  This is a common occurrence to those that minister under the anointing of the Holy Ghost, and it needs to be dealt with.

Many Christians sold out to the Lord no matter the cost, go through this same experience I have just spoken of.  The enemy knows those that are a threat to his kingdom and he will move upon those willing to slander another to put this same curse upon the true child of God, with the hope of destroying their faith  that the Lord will be able to use them.

Ps 109:28
Let them curse, but do You bless. When adversaries arise, let them be put to shame, but let Your servant rejoice.

The word curse here is "qalal" in the Hebrew "to be trifling, light, swift; to curse.  Frequently includes the idea of "cursing" or "scorning or mocking"; bring into contempt; afflict".

There are many cases of "Generational Curses" being passed down through family lines.

There are families where each generation will have those that suffer from:

Alcoholism, drug addiction, poverty, stealing, lying, violence, child molesting, promiscuity, mental illness, fear, feelings of inferiority, suicide, as well as many illnesses....not all illnesses but many are demonic; the list goes on and on.

I am speaking here of a life style or traumatic experience passed from one generation to the next within the same family.  For example:  Many times we see a mother that was sexually abused as a child and her own child will experience the same thing; by someone completely unrelated to her own abuse.
Generational curses are passed through the generations by demons that stay within a family grouping, working its way through as many in the family as allowed.

Ex 20:5-6
You shall not bow down yourself to them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me.  But showing mercy and steadfast love to a thousand generations of those who love Me and keep My commandments.

This is speaking of the desire for a particular sin the parent has committed to come upon the offspring, as in the alcoholic.

Then we have the Christian,  praying illness on another with the sincere intent of teaching this unsuspecting person the power of God's healing.  When I hear Christians speak of doing this I cringe!  These are well meaning Christians praying calamity upon others.
The Child of God needs to be very careful whom they allow to lay hand on them in prayer.  When a person laying hands on another has a bad spirit these  spirits can press against the one being prayed for causing all manor of problems.  If you know a person has a spirit contrary to the Lord and you or another can't avoid being prayed over, ask the Lord's protection in the Blood of Jesus and it'll be all right.

Acts 3:6-7
But Peter said, silver and gold [money] I do not have; but what I do have, that I give to you; in [the use of] the  name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk!  Then he took hold of the man's right hand with a firm grip and raised him up.  And at once his feet and ankle bones became strong and steady.

The  above scriptures are speaking of the healing touch of the Holy Spirit rising up in Peter and going onto this man and healing him.  The opposite is also true, if a demonic spirit is there it too will go onto another.

For example:
Several demonic spirits were harassing a dear pastor in a church in Arizona and he refused to deal with them.  When he laid hands on others they would experience extreme migraine headaches within 24 hrs. There were all sorts of troubles that had to be dealt with when this poor man prayed for his flock.

While the leader of the Womens Ministry was being prayed over I saw her in a vision lying on a table being sacrificed to demonic forces..... The Lord told me to be still and pray until she came to me.

Within a few days this lady came to me telling of strange perverted dreams and thoughts as well as severe headaches, confusion and fear.  On hearing this I told her what I  had seen and together we prayed rebuking these demonic forces setting her free.  Without causing a bad situation in the church, the Lord protected her until she could get the help she needed as well as teaching her to be careful when allowing anyone to pray over her.

There are those that worship Satan gathering in groups for the purpose of praying destruction upon the Christian that is led by the Holy Spirit.
This is not make believe nor a figment of my imagination, this is very real and many non Christians have been literally destroyed through such curses.

And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and and ever. Amen
