Like so many of you I am facing a time of great sadness and trial having just lost my dearest friend. As I was going through one of my favorite but long neglected cookbooks, I saw a scripture I had written in the front page many years ago.  Little did I know it was for a time such as this. Perhaps it will minister to you, as it is to me.

Ps 42:11
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

As we praise and worship the Lord even for the bad times remembering
Romans 8:28 and James 1, our enemies will scatter, and our burdens become light.

Another very dear friend Karen Salter (an Evangelist) told me of a song she and her husband Dale would sing at many of their revival meetings.

"Oh what glory awaits me, in heaven's bright city, when I get there what sights I'll behold.  A million scenes of rare beauty will demand that I view them, But JESUS WILL OUTSHINE THEM ALL!!!!

Thank you Karen for sharing these beautiful words with me.

I know there are times of sadness; there is a season for tears and grief (Ecc 3:1-8).  However, in the midst of our sadness there is the peace of God.

I want to thank each of you so much for your prayers and many notes.

The Lord told me long ago there were people praying for me that I did not even know.  That is true for each of us.  "We are going forth a step at a time", as my dear friend Betty would say to me now if she could.  She was not a quitter and neither are we.

After serving the Lord faithfully for over fifty years, on October 24, 2007 Betty June Swinford went to be with the Lord.

Betty wrote, "
Perilous times Shall Come", for my site which will bless each of you to read.

I want to say to Betty, “Good night my dear friend, as you said to me that last day we spoke, “we shall meet again on the other side of the river.  I will be waiting to welcome you.”

I will always miss her, but I celebrate the grace of God in giving me this special friendship. One day soon we that live for Jesus will join Him in the clouds and be with those that have gone on ahead.  Thank you Lord Jesus.
